How do you compare shipping rates across carriers?

You compare shipping rates across carriers by entering a parcel once and seeing live UPS, FedEx, USPS and DHL rates side by side, with the service name and estimated delivery for each. ExperShip does this on every order, at ExperShip's discounted rates and without a carrier account of your own, so you pick the right service before you buy the label instead of pricing the same box on four carrier websites.

how it works

How rate comparison works in ExperShip.

  1. 01
    The order comes in

From your store, a marketplace, or your own system through the API, with the ship-to address and the parcel.

  2. 02
    Rates are requested live

ExperShip asks each carrier for a rate on that exact parcel and route, domestic or international.

  3. 03
You see them side by side

Every service in one list, sorted cheapest first, with the estimated delivery next to each rate.

  4. 04
    You buy the label

Pick a service, or let a rate shopping rule pick it, and print the label on the same screen.

multi-carrier-rates ยท benefits

What changes when every rate is on one screen.

01

No carrier account needed

Buy labels on every carrier at ExperShip's discounted rates from day one.

02

Domestic and international together

UPS, FedEx, USPS and DHL compared for the same order, whatever the destination.

03

The real cost, before you buy

Rates reflect the parcel you entered, so weight and size are priced in before the label exists.

04

The same view in the API

Developers get the same live rates as a REST endpoint for checkout or warehouse tools.

who it is for

Who compares rates with ExperShip.

  • Teams tired of logging into several carrier websites to price one parcel
  • Developers adding live shipping rates to a checkout or internal tool
Which carriers can I compare in ExperShip?

ExperShip compares UPS, FedEx, USPS and DHL, plus the other national and regional carriers live in the app. The carriers page lists them.

Do I need my own carrier accounts to see rates?

No. You can buy labels on every carrier at ExperShip's discounted rates without opening a carrier account. Connecting your own carrier account is planned but not available yet.

Are the rates live or estimates?

Rates are requested for the parcel and route you enter, so they reflect its weight, size and destination at the time you compare.

Why do rates for the same box differ so much between carriers?

Carriers price by zone, billable weight (the greater of actual and dimensional weight) and surcharges such as residential delivery. Each carrier sets those differently, which is why comparing every order pays off.

Can I get multi-carrier rates through an API?

Yes. The ExperShip API returns the same live rates as the web app, so you can show them at checkout or use them in your own tools.
