Webhook
An automatic HTTP message one system sends to another when an event happens, such as a tracking status change.
A webhook is a way for one application to notify another about an event as it happens. The receiving system registers a URL, and the sending system makes an HTTP POST request to that URL with the event data.
In shipping, webhooks deliver events such as tracking updates, delivery exceptions and label status changes without the receiving system having to poll an API repeatedly. Receivers should verify the request signature, respond quickly, and handle duplicate or out-of-order events.
