Shipping label
The label on a package with the addresses, service, tracking barcode and routing codes a carrier needs to move and deliver it.
A shipping label is the carrier-specific label attached to a package. It shows the sender and recipient addresses, the service level, the tracking number as a barcode, and routing codes the carrier uses to sort the package through its network.
Labels are created by buying postage or a shipment from a carrier, through the carrier's own tools, shipping software or a shipping API. Most are printed in a 4x6 inch format on thermal printers, though many carriers also support letter-size paper.
International labels are usually paired with customs data, either printed or sent electronically. ExperShip lets sellers buy and print shipping labels and customs documents across carriers.
