DIM divisor

The number a carrier divides a package's cubic size by to get its dimensional weight; a lower divisor means a higher DIM weight.

The DIM divisor (dimensional factor) converts a package's volume into dimensional weight. Dimensional weight equals length times width times height, divided by the divisor.

Each carrier publishes its own divisor, and it can differ by service, by account type and over time. The lower the divisor, the higher the dimensional weight, and the more a bulky package costs. Some services only apply dimensional weight above a certain package size.

Because divisors change, sellers should check the current value in their carrier's service guide rather than relying on a fixed number.
