Delivery exception
A tracking status meaning a package was delayed or could not be delivered as planned, such as a bad address or weather.
A delivery exception is a tracking event that signals an unexpected problem in transit. Common causes include incorrect or incomplete addresses, no one available to sign, damaged labels, customs holds, weather and carrier capacity problems.
Many exceptions resolve on their own, but some need action from the shipper or recipient, such as correcting an address or providing customs documents. Monitoring exceptions through tracking updates or webhooks lets sellers contact customers before they ask.
