Consolidator

A company that combines shipments from many shippers into larger loads to lower transport and customs costs.

A consolidator groups smaller shipments from several shippers into one larger shipment, such as a full container, an air pallet or a truckload. Shippers get access to lower bulk rates than they could get alone.

In ocean freight, consolidators build LCL shipments into full containers. In cross-border ecommerce, parcel consolidators collect orders from many sellers, move them internationally in bulk, clear customs and hand them to last-mile carriers in the destination country.
