Carrier account
A shipper's account with a carrier, which holds its rates, billing terms and pickup settings.
A carrier account is the relationship between a shipper and a carrier, identified by an account number. It determines which rates apply, how shipments are billed, and settings such as scheduled pickups.
Shipping platforms either let sellers connect their own carrier accounts, so labels are billed to the seller's account at the seller's rates, or provide labels under an account the platform manages. Many sellers use a mix of both.
