Address validation

Checking a shipping address against postal and carrier data to confirm it exists and is deliverable before a label is created.

Address validation verifies that a delivery address is real, complete and correctly formatted before the shipment is created. It standardizes the address, fills in missing details such as ZIP+4, and can flag whether the address is residential or commercial.

Catching problems early prevents failed deliveries, return-to-sender costs and carrier address correction fees, which carriers bill when they have to fix an address in transit.
